Martha Higareda was born on 24 August 1983 in Villahermosa, the capital and largest city of the Mexican state of Tabasco. She is the daughter of the actress Martha Cervantes and therapist Jose Luis Higareda.
Popular actress Miriam Higareda is her sister and her other siblings are Luis Daniel Higareda and Jose Luis Higareda. She started onstage acting at a very tender age. She also began dancing jazz, flamenco, tap, and folklore.
Martha Higareda relocated from her native Tabasco to Mexico City in search of greener pastures in the movie industry. She started to act in theatre performing in many plays. Among others, she participated in the play Little Women. She also appeared in another play titled Don Juan.
