The budding and talented singer has bagged many awards and accolades. She has always taken her work seriously and in 2017, Joy released three extended plays.

Early Life
Joy Crookes was born on 9 October 1998 in the Lambeth district of South London. She hails from a family of mixed ethnicity, her father is from Dublin while her mother is from Dhaka, the capital of Bangladeshi.
She was raised and had her primary school in Elephant and Castle. Joy Crookes developed an interest in music after visiting a jazz and blues workshop.
Joy had started to publish covers of hit songs at the age of thirteen. She did covers on Laura Marling and reggae and uploaded them on YouTube.
She learned to play musical instruments like guitar, bass, and piano. After familiarizing herself with these instruments, Joy taught that it was best to start writing her music.
At the age of 14, she relocated with her mother to Ladbroke Grove in Western London after her parents separated.
She was discovered by her current manager in April 2013 after she did and uploaded a cover of Ray Charles’s song titled Hit the road. The cover gained a massive viewership on the American online video sharing platform YouTube within a short while.

The name of her Irish paternal grandfather “Frankie Crookes” is boldly tattooed on her arm. She had the name drawn in 2018 before his demise.

Career
Crookes dropped her first single in February 2016 titled New Manhattan. In August, she released another single titled Sinatra and Bad Feeling in June 2017.
In July 2017, she released her debut EP, a five-track EP, titled Influence. Crookes dropped another single titled Don’t Let Me Down and released the music video in November 2018.
Her second EP Reminiscence was dropped in January 2019. She made her debut Vogue appearance in March 2019. She left an impressive performance on BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend on the Introducing Stage in May 2019.
In June 2019, Joy Crookes dropped her third EP titled Perception. In October, she collaborated with the hip-hop artist Jafaris on the single Early. It reached number one on the UK Asian chart.
She made her first television appearance performing with Jafaris on Later…with Jools Holland in November 2019. In November 2019, Joy appeared on the Irish music television series.
April 2020 saw her drop her first single of the year titled Anyone But Me. She dropped another single titled Feet Don’t Fail Me Now in 2021.
