Celebrated and yet disgraced musician Robert Kelly is facing a sentence of up to 25 years for alleged sex trafficking charges and his sentencing is imminent.
Various media publications report that the disgraced R&B singer and producer is set to be sentenced after he was convicted of involvement in efforts to recruit and trap teenagers and women for sex.
A United States federal judge is expected to issue a heavy sentence for the embattled icon on Wednesday nearly a year after he was convicted of several charges.
Prosecutors have also urged the court to put the I Believe I Can Fly singer in jail for at least 25 years, citing he still “poses a serious danger to the public.”

Back in September, a jury in Brooklyn federal court found the fallen superstar guilty on all nine charges he faced, including the most serious of racketeering.
”His actions were brazen, manipulative, controlling, and coercive. He has shown no remorse or respect for the law,” prosecutors wrote in their sentencing memo.
“A lengthy sentence of imprisonment will serve to deter others – including those with wealth, fame, and the outsized power such status brings – from engaging in similar crimes.”
According to EWN, his legal team has pleaded with the prosecutors to consider a lighter sentence for the 55-year-old.
This comes as Kelly is still incarcerated in Brooklyn awaiting his fate but he faces at least 17 years behind bars.
Famous for songs such as I’m A Bad Man and Gotham City among others, it is alleged that Kelly and two of his ex-associates rigged the singer’s 2008 pornography trial and hid years of sexual abuse of minors.
“The lion’s share of the conduct alleged the defendant is decades-old, demonstrating that defendant is not currently a risk to the public,” Kelly’s lawyer Jennifer Bonjean wrote.
“As Drs. Dietz and Sorrentino confirmed the defendant is neither a pedophile nor a sexual sadist.”
