South Africa’s very own DJ, Black Coffee continues to fly the Mzansi flag high as he is amongst those who executive produced Drake’s new seventh studio album Honestly, Nevermind which dropped on Friday, 17 June.
DJ Black Coffee, real name Nkosinathi Maphumulo has undoubtedly reached a new high in his career as he continues to make a name for himself on the global stage.
BLACK COFFEE PRODUCES DRAKE’S NEW ALBUM
Black Coffee has been credited as producer and co-writer on a few songs on Honestly Nevermind:
- Texts Go Green – Black Coffee listed his son Esona Tyolo (who has been touring with him) as co-producer.
- Currents – Coffee has been credited as a co-writer and co-producer.
- Overdrive – He has also been credited as a co-writer and co-producer.
The 46-year-old DJ also attended the Grammy Awards in April this year at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas with his eldest son Esona. He won the award for Best Dance/Electronic Album for his album Subconsciously.
Just two weeks after winning the Grammy Award, Subconsciously reached platinum status. The 12-track album which was released in February 2021 under Universal Music Group has features from the likes of Sun-El Musician, Una Rams, Tellaman, Pharrell Williams, Msaki and David Guetta.
