Kaizer Chiefs management has expressed delight as they unveiled five new signings with the aim of bolstering their ranks
Amakhosi have snapped up three Swallows FC players in Dillan Solomons, Kamohelo Mahlatsi, and Lehlogonolo Matlou.
On top of that, Chiefs also announced former AmaZulu midfielder Siyethemba Sithebe while Mduduzi Shabalala is promoted from the development structures.
The Soweto giants announced the news as coach Arthur Zwane looks to challenge for silverware and eventually end the seven-year trophy drought.
“Solomons is 26 years old and hails from Steenberg in Cape Town. He has penned a four-year deal at Naturena,” the club said in a statement.
“Joining him is 23-year-old Mahlatsi, a talented attacking midfielder from Sebokeng in the Vaal Triangle, who has signed with Amakhosi until 2025.
“Matlou, also 23, makes up the trio of players leaving Swallows for Chiefs. The midfielder has signed a two-year contract with an option for a year’s extension.
“Chiefs have managed to attract Newcastle-born Siyethemba Sithebe from AmaZulu on a two-year deal running from 1 July until 30 June 2024.”
Meanwhile, Zitha Kwinika makes his return to Naturena and he is joined by former Stellies teammate Ashley Du Preez among the new faces in the team.
Remaining with football news, Orlando Pirates have also signed new players and announced that midfielder Miguel Timm, attackers Evidence Makgopa, Bienvenu Eva Nga, and Azola Matrose are the new Buccaneers.
The Soweto big guns also confirmed that midfielder Thabang Monare has parted ways with the club as the two parties could not agree on terms.
Veteran goalkeeper Wayne Sandilands could remain with the club and serve in a different capacity while Kwanda Mngonyama,. Justice Chabalala and Abel Mabaso are leaving.
“Sandilands’ contract comes to an end on June 30 and will not be renewed however, the Club is currently in discussions with Management regarding another role at the Club,” said the club.
“The Club can also confirm that contractual discussions with Monare have collapsed as the two parties could not agree on terms.”
