Paul Pogba has issued a hard-hitting statement through his lawyers hours after his elder brother, Mathias Pogba threatened to expose him.
Mathias Pogba surprisingly posted a message in four languages English, Italian, Spanish, and French on social media in which he announced: “upcoming revelations about my brother” that will be “explosive”.
“The whole world deserves to know certain things so the public can decide if Paul Pogba really deserves the admiration, the respect, his place in the France team if he is a trustworthy person and worth representing the France youth, and big brands,” Mathias Pogba said.
But Paul Pogba, through his lawyers, has responded by saying Mathias’ comments are part of the threats he has been receiving from gangs.
Paul Pogba put the statement through his lawyers who happen to be his mother Yeo Moriba and Rafaela Pimenta. The latter took over as Paul Pogba’s agent following the death of Mino Raiola. She was also mentioned in Mathias’ video
The statement reads “The recent declarations of Mathias Pogba on social media are unfortunately not a surprise. They are coming after threats and attempts of extortion by an organized gang against Paul Pogba.
“This has been referred to the appropriate authorities both in Italy and in France a month ago.”
France TV reports that Paul Pogba has spoken to France’s Central Office for the Fight against Organised Crime about the alleged extortion attempts. Paul Pogba reportedly told the police that his childhood friends and his brother Mathias were behind the threats.
Paul Pogba reportedly believes that the group will try to broadcast messages he sent about Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe, in order to try and damage his reputation and standing in the France national team.
