Arthur Zwane is confident his Kaizer Chiefs troops will eventually “get it right”

Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane believes his players will eventually get things right as they prepare to take on Marumo Gallants in Rustenburg in the DStv Premiership on Sunday.

Amakhosi are yet to return to winning ways in the league since their 2-0 loss at the hands of Cape Town City in the Mother City last month.

Following that loss, they overcame Stellenbosch FC in the MTN8 before playing to a dull goalless draw against AmaZulu last weekend.

Heading to the clash slated for Sunday afternoon at Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace, the retired midfielder is confident his players will improve their displays.

“It’s a work in progress. When you are trying to get the combinations right, you are going to miss certain things,” Zwane said.

“These include chemistry and tactical understanding. But when you look at our boys, sometimes they get it right, and sometimes they don’t.

“If we had more direct runs inside the box, especially in the final third. We could have good decision-making and good combinations.”

The Soweto giants’ last line of defence has been under heavy criticism in the recent past due to their silly mistakes, but ‘10111’ is upbeat about the future.

At the same time, influential and senior players such as Khama Billiat and Keagan Dolly, haven’t been at their best upfront as well, leading to public criticism from a section of fans.

However, Zwane has chosen to stick with his tried-and-tested campaigners and prefers to rally behind his troops and two key players.

“These are seasoned campaigners and they only need our help as coaches. We are not there to judge them,” Zwane added.

“This is a game of football. People will have a plan for you, try to nullify your strengths to weaken you. They’ll play a prominent role going forward.”

Their match against the side from Limpopo is scheduled to get underway at 15.00 and the Glamour Boys will welcome a win before facing SuperSport United on September 15 at home.
