Sho Madjozi’s tipsy discussion of her children’s book divides tweeps

Sho Madjozi, an award-winning musician, was the latest guest on rapper Da L.E.S’s podcast, “Posted with Da L.E.S and Friends,” and viewers have had plenty to say about the interview.

Da L.E.S and Sho Madjozi sipped alcoholic beverages during the informal setting.

Da L.E.S smoked marijuana while the two friends caught up.

A video of the interview has now gone viral on Twitter. Sho Madjozi is seen talking to Da L.E.S about her upcoming children’s book, “ShoMa and the Stars,” in the one-minute, 25-second clip in particular.

The musician shows Da L.E.S the book’s cover and begins musing about the protagonist’s nose. “Can you please look at how cute the nose is?” she asks.

Sho Madjozi is slightly slurring her words and appears to be inebriated.

In one tweet, the “Huku” singer revealed that Da L.E.S invited her for “a nice wholesome interview over a few drinks,” and three hours later she was obsessing over the main character’s nose.

The video has sparked a debate about whether Sho Madjozi should have discussed her children’s book while in the presence of alcohol and marijuana.

“I know some found this funny. To each his own. Where was Sho’s manager? Why didn’t anyone from her team stop this? It’s a children’s book. She is clearly inebriated. Why would anyone in that room think it’s ok for her to plug a kids’ book in this setup,” tweeted @PhilMphela

Mphela is not universally supported. Some argued that it wasn’t as big a deal as he made it out to be.

Others argued that, given Sho Madjozi’s influence among children (who can forget how she had little girls all over the country do their hair in colourful braids like hers? ), this was not the right move.

The video sparked quite a debate, with some social media users saying there was nothing wrong with her discussing her children’s book while under the influence, while others said kids weren’t watching Da L.E.S’s podcast anyway.
