Cristiano Ronaldo came up against his old nemesis, Paris St. Germain’s Lionel Messi in a friendly and the French side was victorious on Thursday.
Having recently joined Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr, the Portugal skipper led the Riyadh Season XI but they narrowly lost the encounter via a scoreline.
Despite losing the match, Ronaldo netted twice and Jang Hyun Soo, as well as Talisca, found their names on the scoresheet.
However, the French Ligue1 giants were clinical and scored through Messi, Marquinhos, Sergio Ramos, Kylian Mbappe, and Hugo Ekitike to clinch the victory.
Ronaldo also headed to social media to react to the match, saying it was a wonderful experience to return to the field of play.
“So happy to be back on the pitch, and on the score sheet!! And nice to see some old friends,” he tweeted.
Social media users reacted to the match and some were pleased to see the two football greats coming up together once again.
