US boxing legend Mike Tyson faces yet another rape accusation

United States boxing legend Mike Tyson has found himself on the wrong side of the law once again as he faces a rape accusation.

Tyson is accused by an anonymous woman who claimed that the former boxer sexually assaulted her at a dance club in New York.

People reports that the complaint was filed by the woman in New York’s Albany County Court on January 5, 2023.01.25

“I met Mike Tyson in the early 1990s at a dance club called Septembers,” said an unnamed woman.

“My friend and I were hanging out with him and his limousine driver. Tyson told us about a party and asked us to join him. My friend was going to drop off her car, and Tyson said he would pick her up in the limousine.

“As a result of Tyson’s rape, I suffered and continue to suffer from physical, psychological, and emotional injury.”

According to the document, the woman then got into the former heavyweight boxer’s vehicle and was allegedly touched by the professional boxer.

“I told him no several times and asked him to stop, but he continued to attack me. He then pulled my pants off and violently raped me,” she added.

As per the official affidavit, the accuser is now seeking $5 million in damages that include “physical, psychological, and emotional injury.”

The lawsuit was filed under New York’s Adult Survivors Act, which Governor Kathy Hochul signed into law last year per the report.

As he held the record of being an undisputed winner in the world heavyweight championship from 1987 to 1990, Tyson is famous all over the world but not only for his exploits in the boxing ring.

He has faced the law on many occasions where he has been accused of violent conduct and rape.

The 56-year-old previously spent three years in jail beginning in 1992 after being found guilty of raping model Desiree Washington, who was 18 at the time.
