Another reality television show is coming to Mzansi viewers and this time it features the award-winning musician, Bulelwa ‘Zahara’ Mkutukana.
Zahara has dropped a hint of what her brand new reality television will look like as it will air on SABC1 in February.
The public broadcaster has shared a teaser of what fans of the multi-award-winning artist can look forward to in her reality show when it premieres on the channel next month.
Titled Zahara: As I Rise premieres on Saturday, 4 February, at 19:30 and the Auckland Park-based television channel announced the reality show as part of its summer video entertainment content reveals in November.
In the teaser of her reality show, viewers get a front-row seat into the Incwadi Encane hitmaker’s life and some of the conversations she has with her nearest and dearest.
The show also touches on matters which have caused the musician to make headlines, apart from her vocal abilities – from her alcohol consumption to finances.
“The series promises to offer viewers an intimate view into the star’s life. Viewers will get to see Zahara play unique roles in different people’s lives and revive herself and her music career,” a press statement reads.
“Underneath the pouting persona with a glass of alcohol every day and the stress of losing everything she owns, there is a bruised woman with no make-up fighting to do corrections on her life; a sister and a woman who is searching for joy that she hasn’t felt for years.
“The dynamic series will give viewers insights into Zahara’s life, whose always been unapologetic about who she is; she will be letting us into her life on so many levels.”
Looking at a related article covered by ESA, this portal posted that after suffering heartbreak and being embarrassed in the past two years, South African musician Zahara is now a renewed person.
The award-winning muso said she felt in a good space after saving her house and also revealed her future plans to remain a celebrated musician.
Zahara also revealed her future plans, saying that there is a reality television programme that is planned but didn’t reveal many details.
“We are in the final planning stages of the reality show and we will start shooting next week,” she revealed.
