Bontle Modiselle is perhaps South Africa’s leading celebrity choreographer. Rick James, one-half of the ZAlebs couple and music duo with hubby Priddy Ugly, confirmed the reality in 2022 when she seized the Guinness Book of Records when it was announced that:
Bontle Modiselle, a choreographer, dance judge, and TV personality, sets a Guinness World Record. Modiselle, who operates her own dance class, enters the list of Mzansi Guinness World Record winners for 2022.
“We’re Official Guinness World Record Holders for: The Largest Amapiano Dance, Choreographed by yours truly, performed Synchronised at the same time. Achieved on @stumbosa Record Breakers. Wow,” wrote Bontle Modiselle.
The song was released just days after the ZAlebs welcomed American singer and Destiny’s Child alumnus Kelly Rowland in the Bontle Modiselle Studios. Kelly Rowland seemed to invite the choreographer to the United States for Grammy Week as a result of their meeting.
By invitation, Bontle Modiselle attended the Roc Nation Brunch.
Taking to Instagram earlier this week, one-third of the Modiselle Sisters uploaded a cheeky picture indicating that she cannot wait to visit Kelly Rowland during her week in the US ahead of the Grammys.
Following her post about her experience at the Roc Nation Brunch and the circumstances that lead up to her attendance. Some speculated that the reason Bontle didn’t post much during her time in Los Angeles was because she was also there for work.
Modiselle is thought to have worked on the next Beyonce Renaissance visuals, which have been in the works for seven months and counting. It is also believed that if Modiselle did not work on the graphics for Beyonce’s upcoming visual album, she may have worked on choreography for the singer.
This is plausible given that Beyonce is expected to announce the remaining Club Renaissance World Tour dates around the end of the year. The announcement is expected to include four African tour dates. As a result, at least two of those African tour dates are expected to feature two South African cities, most likely Johannesburg and Cape Town.
As a result, it would not be surprising if Beyonce enlisted Modiselle’s assistance in creating choreography for some of the music from The Gift album, which served as the official soundtrack for the Lion King live-action picture, which was released in 2019.
