American comedian and filmmaker Kevin Hart is enjoying his stay in South Africa and has met popular figures such as Siya Kolisi.
It has also come to the attention of Entertainment SA that the funnyman is now called ‘Mpho’ by his fans in Mzansi – a name he has approved.
During a press conference at Montecasino in Johannesburg, Hart explained why he decided to promote his film, Die Hart in South Africa.
He said choosing Mzansi was easy because his action-comedy film was meant to bring awareness to what the country is all about.
Hart, who referred to himself as Mpho, a name that was given to him during his last trip to SA in 2016 as it translated to Gift said he learned a lot in SA.
The satirical action-comedy movie stars the likes of John Travolta, Nathalie Emmanuel, Josh Hartnett, and Jean Reno among others.
“The name Mpho came from my first trip here. I got an amazing history lesson where I learnt about the culture and understanding not just the heritage but true understanding of the people,” said the funnyman.
“I feel that it’s part of my duty to come here and promote this movie…so that platform is able to bring awareness of what this country is all about. I wanted to be a part of the hood story and the good conversations.”
Meanwhile, this website has gathered that the crowd-pleaser also met Springboks skipper Kolisi in Cape Town and he shared the snaps on Instagram.
“Guys! @kevinhart4real is an absolute legend! Pretoria you’re in for a real treat!
Thank you for coming to beautiful South Africa! 🇿🇦,” wrote Kolisi.
@Cozmiclove said:
“Where did you find Mpho?
