Mamelodi Sundowns’ Teboho Mokoena joins Neymar in wearing Puma Future boots

Fresh from a 3-1 win in their CAF Champions League Group B match against Cameroon’s Coton Sport, Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Teboho Mokoena will wear the new Puma Future Supercharge boot.

According to a press release sighted by Entertainment SA Sport, Mokoena will join the likes of Paris St. Germain star Neymar Jr. and South African stars in the form of Themba Zwane, Keagan Buchanan, Bongani Sam, Ethan Brooks, Sphelele Mkhulise, Zanele Nhlapo, and Sibusiso Mabiliso.

The Bafana Bafana international also speaks about his career and what really attracted him to German-manufactured Puma soccer boots.

“Puma is one of the biggest brands in the world. The boots, which are my primary tools, are top-level. On top of that, the level of service is exceptional. All my needs are timeously catered for, and we players are all treated the same,” he said.

“The technology has been on the up from day one. I love how Powertape supports with stability, Fuzionfit for flexibility and comfort, and lastly the dual density Dynamic motion system outsole for a mix of stiffness and flexibility.”

He also touched on winning the DStv Premiership title with Masandawana, saying it stands out as one of his favourite moments.

“Winning the league with Mamelodi Sundowns last season. It has always been my dream to put that gold medal around my neck,” he added.

“As a centre midfield, one needs to be aggressive and able to pull strings, both in offensive play and defensive strategies. Above all, your work ethic must be unmatched. I’m now more technically aware. I read the game better and I get myself involved with the game at the right time and in the right areas.”

As someone who is grounded, the Free State-born and former SuperSport United midfielder reveals the best advice he received from his mother.

“I learned to stay motivated in good times and hard times. So, they should be patient and strive for excellence. Never give up on their dreams no matter how impossible they seem,” he continued.

“The best advice I got was from my Mom. She said I should always “Be me”. I have carried her words with me from that moment.

“I want to give hope and faith to the young ones coming up from my hometown of Bethlehem, as well as the rest of Free State province. The world is full of opportunities, so they need to define their path and pursue their goals.”

‘Tebza’ concluded that he wants to be the best version of himself, “live my full potential and become a beacon of hope to many.”
