Former Real Madrid teammates Sergio Ramos and Cristiano Ronaldo could reunite in Saudi Arabia if media reports in Europe are anything to go by.
Entertainment SA Sport has gathered that the Saudi club, A Nassr, who have already signed Ronaldo, are now looking to bring in the veteran defender, Ramos.
The ex-Spain and Madrid servant is currently on the books of French Ligue1 giants Parsi St. Germain and he is being courted by the Saudi outfit.
Following Ronaldo’s move to the Asian country after signing a two-and-a-half-year contract reportedly worth up to $200 million a year, PSG’s Ramos is open to joining the Portuguese superstar in the Arab country.
According to a report in SR Deportes, Ramos has been linked with a move to the Middle East once his contract with PSG expires in the summer.
Al-Nassr, the Saudi Arabia club that signed former Manchester United and Juventus star for a lucrative contract of close to $200 million a year, had tried to get on board Croatia and Madrid great Luka Modric.
However, the plan of the club to link up the current and former Los Blancos’ stalwarts didn’t work as Modric said he wanted to play in Spain for at least another year, Marca reported.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo failed to score in his Saudi Pro League debut for Al Nassr, but his presence electrified fans at King Saudi University Stadium as the team beat Ettifaq 1-0 to retake first place on Sunday.
Meanwhile, ESA recently published that having arrived at Al Nassr carrying a huge responsibility of ensuring that he scores goals for the club, Ronaldo is now facing criticism.
The former Manchester United star missed a goal as they lost in the Saudi Super Cup semi-final and his manager Rudi Garcia has criticised him.
Garcia laid some of the blame on Ronaldo after his side was beaten 3-1 by Al Ittihad in the Saudi Super Cup semi-final on Thursday.
