Businessman Vusi Thembekwayo and radio host Sizwe Dhlomo were at each other’s throats on Monday as they took their fight to the social media space.
The feud between the two well-known figures comes after Thembekwayo made derogatory statements about the radio presenter during his interview with Penuel Mlotshwa.
The beef is about tweet plagiarism and it has escalated into a public spat.
Towards the end of his interview on The Penuel Show, Vusi ranted about how Dhlomo was the faultline in relations between the ‘haves’ and the ‘have-nots’ in the black community.
Penuel’s attempt to measure the businessman’s thoughts about inherent tensions between first and third-generation black aristocrats was degraded into a long-winded spout about his humble upbringing versus Dhlomo’s ‘nepo baby’ privilege.
The gist of it is, in 2017, Dhlomo headed to Twitter and made his views known on issues surrounding taxi financing during an industry strike.
Responding to the clip, Sizwe lashed out at Thembekwayo accusing him of plagiarism and eventually escalated into a fiery exchange of insults traded by both parties.
Vusi also said there was no prospect of peace between him and the Kaya959 staffer, he said: “That’s not gonna f***ing happen, f*** him. I moved past that point when he made it personal and came after my kids.”
Dhlomo didn’t take the sentiments lying down and swiftly returned fire, belittling the businessman’s acumen.
“Now that time has proven you to be a fraud [and] me exactly who TF I think I am, all of a sudden, the tough guy has disappeared [and] now it’s humility talk. Nah pah, no winter is coming. I’m just built different!” he tweeted.
