South African rapper Emtee has been released on bail after handing himself over to the police as per local media reports.
Entertainment SA has learned that Mthembeni ‘’Emtee’ Ndevu handed himself to the men in blue on Wednesday following allegations of assault.
This publication also reported that the musician assaulted his pregnant wife, Nicole Chinsamy and the story made headlines last week as he also topped Twitter trends.
Sunday World has it that the award-winning rapper is out on bail after his wife Nicole opened a case of assault against him.
Ndevu handed himself over to the police at the Midrand police station and Lieutenant-Colonel Mavela Masondo, the spokesperson for the police, said the rapper was taken to the Midrand magistrate’s court the same day.
“The police can confirm that the suspect handed himself to the police and he was charged with assault and taken to court where he was granted bail,” Masondo said.
However, in his response on social media, the rapper posted a brief response to News24’s story, alleging that handing himself over to the police is untrue.
Chinsamy has two kids with the rapper and can be seen heavily pregnant in the viral video which surfaced last week and could be heard alleging that Ndevu beat her to a pulp on Valentine’s Day.
“You beat me up while I am seven-months pregnant. Show them how you beat me up on Valentine’s Day. Show them what you did to me, here’s the proof,” she said directing her phone to Ndevu’s live feed.
In a recent post, ESA published that a case of Gender-Based Violence has been opened against rapper Emtee.
Entertainment SA reported earlier that the musician is facing allegations of assault after a video of his wife Nicole Chimsamy surfaced on social media channels.
It was announced that the ugly situation has intensified between rapper Emtee, his wife Nicole, and his mother-in-law.
