Ashanti and Nelly performed their 2008 single “Body on Me” together at Tao Beach in Las Vegas on Sunday. The performance fueled reports that the pair was dating again. The night before their Las Vegas performance, the two were seen holding hands while attending a boxing fight between Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia.
Ashanti and Nelly dated for over a decade starting in the 2000s. After their breakup , Nelly dated Shantel Jackson until 2021.
The pair started fuelling the dating rumours when they performed “Body on Me” at Power 98.3 and Power 96.1’s “Under The Mistletoe” concert in Glendale, Arizona. Bow Wow also commented on the pair relationship with, “Yo mo! I know we not seeing eye-to-eye either. But from little bro to big bro, STOP PLAYING AND MARRY THIS WOMAN BRO! You like 50 [laughing face emoji]. Sit your old ass down [laughing face emojis] this your queen.”
Addressing the rumours, Ashanti said,“I saw a lot of comments. I mean, my reaction was, ‘wow!’ It was a lot of comments and people wanting that. What I will say is we’re in a better place. We’re cool now. We had some conversations, so it’s cool.”
