Award-winning South African musician Big Zulu has recently thanked his fans for supporting his latest project as it reached platinum status and he also revealed plans to abstain from sex.
Born Siyabonga Nene, Zulu collaborated with Sjava and says he is looking to refrain from engaging in intimacy because he wants to be fit as a fiddle ahead of his boxing match.
The Imali Eningi singer is set to face off against Brian Dings who is well-experienced in one of the most physically demanding sporting codes.
As the bout is slated for April 23, the award winner will meet Dings who is famous for his appearances on Moja Love as a bodyguard via Uyajola 9/9.
Revealing his plans as the build-up to the match gains momentum, he revealed that he has made certain lifestyle changes, and that includes abstaining from sex and drinking less while sweating it out in the gym.
“They advised me not to sleep with women while training,” he told TshisaLIVE.
“One of the boxers I saw at the gym is going on seven months without sleeping with a woman, and you can see by the way he moves and the way he is aggressive when he fights that it has been long since he slept with a woman.”
According to the KwaZulu-Natal singer, he says when he started training, he weighed 127.5kg and he is now at 115.5kg.
Remaining with Big Zulu, Entertainment SA posted that Zulu has allayed fears that he might die in a car accident following a prophecy from David Uche.
The prophecy has surfaced through a social media post shared by @Mrs Kgobe on Twitter and the award-winning musician has reacted to it.
Big Zulu says he is not bothered because he doesn’t have control over some of the things that can happen to him.
However, the man known for hits such as Imali Eningi and Umuzi eSandton, says he is thankful for the prayer but he is suggested he is not bothered.
“Siyabonga kakhulu ngomthandazo kodwa khona izinto ezingekho kwawam amandla (Thank you very much for the prayer but there are things that are not in my power),” he wrote.
