Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has shared his reaction after their 6-1 win over Leeds United in the English Premier League on Monday.
The German boss has hailed the victory as the biggest and most thrilling this season as she reacted to the win.
Klopp guided his club to first in six games across all competitions since they beat Manchester United 7-0 last month.
The Reds inflicted pain on a record home Premier League defeat on average Leeds who are battling against relegation.
“I think it’s the best game we’ve played this season from all different perspectives. We forced a lot of errors, sensational goals and counter-pressing, the best game for long time,” Klopp told Sky Sports.
“There were a couple of tough moments, we conceded an unnecessary goal, but these things happen. Apart from that we were in control of the game.”
Liverpool have also beaten Bournemouth 9-0 in the Premier League and stunned Rangers via a 7-1 score margin in the UEFA Champions League this term, but the former Borussia Dortmund manager wants to cherish the one they claimed over Leeds.
“We can be super offensive orientated if we react in the right moment. I can’t explain why our counter-pressing didn’t work (earlier this season) but tonight it clicked,” he added.
“I’m not sure how many goals we scored after we won the ball back – that makes all the difference.”
Meanwhile, Klopp is now targeting a spot in next season’s UEFA Champions League as they are now nine points behind Newcastle United on the log table.
His mission is to continue playing good football so that they to return to Europe’s premier football tournament. They trail fourth-placed Newcastle United by nine points.
“The challenge now is to build on this,” Klopp continued. “I don’t know where it will lead to. It’s super important what happens from now on because if it goes on, there will be a next season.
“I have no clue where we will end up this season, it depends massively on other teams around us who can win all their games. We can’t do much about that.
“But what’s important now is what we showed in the second half against Arsenal. That could have gone either way but we reacted well and got the point which we deserved at least and tonight, super important that we really understand what we got here.”
