Siphamandla Ngcobo, the man arrested for AKA’s murder, refused bail

Siphamandla Ngcobe, one of the four accused, has dropped his bail application.

Ngcobo was detained in connection with the February assassination of Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes in Durban. According to News24, Ngcobo was detained in Cape Town along with three other suspects and charged with robbery when it was revealed that he was the one who took the Mercedes-Benz used as a getaway car from AKA’s crime scene.

On Thursday, Ngcobo appeared in Durban Magistrate’s Court for the third time for robbery.

Ngcobo was supposed to appear in an identity parade where witnesses would testify whether he did conduct the crime; however, due to the delay in his identity parade, he opted to forfeit his bail. The procession was delayed because of a shortage of participants.

The parade is now scheduled for May 4th.

When four suspects were detained in Cape Town and three of them were later freed, many AKA fans were doubtful that police would arrest the wrong individuals and the case would eventually go cold.

EntertainmentSA, reported earlier that three people have been detained in connection with the murder of Fela Versace hitmaker. On Sunday, March 26, three unknown individuals were allegedly apprehended in Cape Town, Western Cape.

Annelene van den Heever, Ngcobo’s lawyer, has maintained that he is not connected to AKA’s murder.

AKA was slain with pal Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane outside a renowned restaurant on Durban’s Florida Road on Friday 11 February.
