Bongani Fassie Investigate R25 Million that Was Stolen from His Mother’s Estate

Bongani Fassie (39) is looking to find answers to what happened to his mother’s R25 million that disappeared from Brenda Fassie’s estate.

The late Brenda Fassie’s publishing rights were sold by one of the executors for 1 million which went missing.

Speaking to Sunday world, Bongani explains he launched an investigation into his late musician mother’s estate backing to 2004. According to Bongani, Brenda’s estate was concluded in 2017.

“I kindly suggest you follow the (look) all the way back to 2004, when Mabrr passed. Please apply yourself and investigate this matter before we proceed,” he said.

According to SA History report, Brenda AKA MaBrrr collapsed in her home on 26th April 2004 and was admitted to a hospital in Sunninghill, Gauteng. It was revealed that her death was due to heart failure caused by drug overdose.

On his reality show, the former Jozi hip-hop star claimed that those who handled Brenda’s estate stole her money. He went on to accuse former music manager Lance Stehr for giving him drugs, whom in turn sued Bongani for defamation and spreading “intentional falsehood” against him.

“The false and defamatory statements made and broadcast by the defendant and his confidante Mercy Pakela have had the effect of lowering the reputation of the plaintiff (Lance) in the eyes of his community in that the plaintiff is perceived by those to whom publication occurred as an unprofessional manager who exploits his clients and deals drugs to them,” Stehr said in his court papers to Fassie.

Speaking to Drum Magazine last year, Bongani said, “Lance was involved in my mom’s estate. That got wound up, it was finalised and everything.

“I want to find out where my R25 million went to. He has got a fight coming. Lance was my legal guardian, self-appointed, and it wound up to 11 years.

“There are so many irregularities to this and I am not backing down either. Also, where am I supposed to get R6 million?” he concluded.

Bongani revealed that his mother was married at her time of death and that her husband Nhlanhla Mbambo, should have been the beneficiary.
