Kanye West’s Yeezy Ordered to Pay $300K to NYC Creative Director

Fashion brand Yeezy has been ordered to pay a New York based freelance creative director, Katelyn Mooney $300,000 in a lawsuit over a photoshoot YZY SHDZ.

The ruling follows after  Ye formerly known as Kanye West failed to respond to Mooney’s lawsuit, Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Gerald Lebovits ruled for Ye to pay $300,000. According to the judgement, the amount include $95,000 in actual damages plus $205,000 in statutory damages.

Yeezy is owned by rapper and fashion designer, Kanye West.

Last year December Mooney sued Yeezy, claiming that the fashion brand owed her nearly $100,000. She was hired to shoot Yeezy new sunglasses line SHDZ. Mooney claimed that she only received $15,000 of the money owed to her despite sending invoices to Yeezy team.

In her lawsuit, Mooney claims that she had to out loans and use credit cards to cover her expenses as she was not paid by the brand.

According to News York Post Earlier this week, Ye’s former Yeezy collaborator Adidas was sued by investors over the failed partnership, which fell apart last year amid Ye’s embrace of anti-Semitic sentiment. Top executives at the company have been accused of being aware of the risks that come with working with Ye, who had expressed problematic beliefs “as early as 2018.”
