With goals from Percy Tau and Zakhele Lepasa, Bafana Bafana scored an amazing 2-1 win over Morocco in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at FNB Stadium today.
Coach Hugo Broos’ team is now untouchable in seven matches and they made their intentions clear very early in the game after racing to a 5th minute lead through Tau. The home side could have increased the lead on several occasions in the first half but had to settle for a 1-0 lead at halftime.
Morocco did not want to stay down and they made a come back through Hakim Ziyech in the 60th minute but, unfortunately it didn’t prove to be of any assistance except to be a consolation goal for the visitors.
Bafana Bafana have now moved to the summit of Group K with seven points from four games through this win, but it doesn’t mean that it’s officially over for the Morocco, as they can still reclaim their top spot with a win over Liberia in the two nations’ final game of the group.
Bafana Bafana go top of Group K with a 2-1 win over the No.1 ranked team on the continent.
