Media personality and actress Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa celebrates yet another win, has earned an international best actress award for her portrayal in Four Walls.
Enhle took to her social media with a video to announce the exciting news and thank her fans.
“What a great pleasure to have won Best ATX actress for the movie/short series Four Walls. Thanks to my producers, directors, fellow cast, and crew. It would have not happened without you … We did it!
“I’m so excited. I would have loved to go and just see what was happening and to grace the red carpet, but the fact that they have given me this honour is absolutely a pleasure,” she said.
“Four Walls” sheds light on the scourge of gender-based violence and femicide in South Africa. it tells the heartbreaking story of Grace, a well-educated woman trapped In an abusive marriage.
When Grace finally decides to end her husband’s life, her home is invaded by two thugs on the run from a failed cash-in-transit robbery, who kidnap her.
In an interview with IOL last year, Enhle shared what it was like preparing for the role, and how it was not difficult to walk in Grace’s shoes.
“Almost every single day a South African woman suffers some form of abuse,” said Mlotshwa.
“So this is me telling the stories of the women I’ve spoken to, through the Enhle Cares Foundation.
“I took from all of those women’s experiences and tried as best as I can to create a story that’s truthful, a story that represents women who are going through the most concerning GBV,” she said.
