Murdah Bongz talks about new Black Motion member

Ever since Black Motion parted ways in 2022, they have been silent and Murdah Bongz—real name Bongani Mohosana, has been busy with his own projects.

Recently, Murdah went on to share a reel on Instagram where he gave an update to his fans and social media followers about the status of his relationship with his former band. The South African disc jockey and record producer gave hints about reconnecting with his former band, Black Motion, and said that he had no hard feelings towards his former partner, Thabo Smol.

Murdah Bongz said Thabo is his bru and he’s always been his bru. “I think time will tell, And then we’ll fix our thing. Thabo Smol is still my bru; I still love him.” – he added.

In the beginning of this year, a housebreaking and theft case was opened against Murdah Bongz at Olievenhoutbosch police station, Johannesburg North. Sunday World reported that Black Motion owner, Moses Nkia Mokgoko made allegations against the band’s former member who left the group last year to pursue a solo career, that he had broken into their studio in Centurion and had taken studio equipment, including monitors, a television set, computer hard drives, and mixing desk.

Reports went on to reveal that the studio was purchased by Mokgoko, Murdah Bongz, and his former band partner, Thabo Smol. Bongz also said: “Black Motion will be back soon. We just have to iron a few things out… We’ve been giving you guys hits for years; it’s been 15 years.”

Murdah Bongz’s spot in Black Motion was replaced by a new band member known as Kabelo ‘Problem Child’ Koma earlier this year.

The “Joy Joy” hitmaker said: “I don’t know the new guy, what’s his name again? Problem Child? He’s the new guy on Black Motion. I don’t know if the new DJ is feeding you guys well, I don’t know. I hope that new guy he’s bringing some new vibes.”

After joining the band, Problem Child mentioned to TshisaLIVE that he brings something new and special to the group.

“I bring a lot that I cannot explain in words. If you look closer, you’ll see that every time we show up, it is something new and special,” he was quoted as saying.
