Lupita Nyong’o reveals she has separated with Selema Masekela

The Hollywood star, Lupita Nyong’o has revealed that she has separated from her lover, Selema Masekela.

The ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ star took to her Instagram account to post a lengthy message that where she made it clear that she has to publicly disassociate herself from someone she can no longer trust, and that person at this point is the son of the late South African musician Hugh Masekela.

She captioned the thread of messages saying: “There are much more important things going on in the world right now, and my thoughts are with those who are deeply suffering. At this moment, it is necessary for me to share a personal truth and publicly dissociate myself from someone I can no longer trust…”

She went to acknowledge that she is finding herself in a season of heartbreak because of a love suddenly and devastatingly extinguished by deception, and she is tempted to run into the shadows and hide, only to return to the light when she has regained her strength enough for her to say, “Whatever, my life is better this way.”

The Mexican-Kenyan actress sadly said that she is reminded that the magnitude of the pain she is feeling is equal to the measure of her capacity for love.

“And so, I am choosing to face the pain, cultivating the courage to meet my life exactly as it is, and trusting that this too shall pass. The promise, they say, is that a tender heart is what gives birth to fearlessness. I hope it’s true… I share this to keep it ????, and hoping that the knowledge of my experience might be useful to someone else out there experiencing the grip of heartbreak who is poised to try and escape from the pain and miss out on the wisdom that comes from it.  #Breakup” – she added.

She closed her breakup message by saying: “Let’s face our pain so we don’t spread it.”

Lupita Nyong’o and Selema Masekela went public with their relationship in 2022 and she actively shared their love on social media but following the post, the actress has scrubbed her Instagram account of him.
