In the thrilling Clash of the Choirs season four, Team Ntencane, led by musician Ntencane, real name, Senzo Zondo, from Greytown, KZN Midlands, secured victory over Vusi Nova’s Eastern Cape choir. The finale, broadcast on Mzansi Magic, showcased a fierce competition between the two regions.
On the evening of Sunday, December 17, Team Ntencane clinched the top spot, winning the first prize of R1 million along with an additional R250,000. In a heartwarming gesture, the winning choir chose to donate the winnings to the Durban-based Ntenga Foundation.
Expressing his future plans, Ntencane emphasized his desire to prioritize the well-being of his choir members. “The choir members dedicated their lives to this competition, and some even made sacrifices by leaving their jobs. I want them to enjoy this money and have a joyful Christmas,” he said.
While making plans for the choir’s future, Ntencane asserted that he still want his team to continue working together. “There’s no turning back now, and I don’t want this choir to disband. I want them to continue showcasing their talent in the music industry,” he stated.
Ntencane, known for the hit “Wawuthembeni,” disclosed his intention to explore various avenues to elevate his choir’s status. “I want them to become a recording choir because of their incredible singing talent. We cannot afford to let them disperse. After hearing their personal stories during auditions, I don’t want them to return to those challenging lives after this victory,” he explained.
