Britney Spears has decided to make it clear that she has no intention of coming back to the music industry.
The renowned ‘Toxic’ hitmaker, who last released a studio album with 2016’s ‘Glory,’ has come forward to dismiss recent rumours suggesting that Charli XCX was approached to craft songs for her anticipated comeback album. Spears clarified on Instagram that she is currently focused on songwriting purely for enjoyment or assisting other artists behind the scenes.
In her Instagram post, clear went on to state: “Let’s set the record straight: much of what’s being reported is simply inaccurate! Contrary to claims, I have no plans to re-enter the music scene. When I do write, it’s either for the sheer joy of it or for fellow artists.”
She also went on to note about her recently released memoir, ‘The Woman in Me,’ refuting allegations that its publication was unauthorized. Spears wrote, “There are also unfounded rumours circulating that my memoir was unlawfully published without my consent. The truth is quite different. Have you been keeping up with the current news? I feel incredibly cherished and fortunate.”
Earlier reports had suggested that Charli XCX had crafted a compelling track potentially earmarked for Spears’s new album. A source shared with The Sun that significant efforts were underway to curate a standout collection of songs for Spears’s return, given her stature as a prominent 21st-century icon. Charli XCX was said to have collaborated closely with Spears, resulting in a promising track that might feature on the speculated 2024 album release.
