Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, and Dua Lipa have been officially announced as the initial performers for the 2024 Grammy Awards, scheduled to take place at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena on the 4th of February.
The 20-year-old Rodrigo, leads with six nominations, including Album of the Year (‘Guts’), Record of the Year (‘Vampire’), Song of the Year (‘Vampire’), Best Pop Vocal Album (‘Guts’), Best Pop Solo Performance (‘Vampire’), and Best Rock Song (‘Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl’).
Billie Eilish, aged 22, also secured six nominations, with five attributed to her hit ‘What Was I Made For?’ from ‘Barbie’. Additionally, Eilish and Labrinth, 35, are contenders for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with ‘Never Felt So Alone’ from HBO’s ‘Euphoria’.
On the other hand, the 28-year-old Dua Lipa earned two nominations for her ‘Barbie’ track ‘Dance The Night’ in the Song of the Year and Best Song Written For Visual Media categories.
SZA stands out as the most-nominated artist, having received nine nominations, including recognition in Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year.
Victoria Monet, 30, follows as the second-most nominated artist, boasting seven nods. Taylor Swift, 34, made history by becoming the first artist to secure seven nominations in the esteemed Song of the Year category with ‘Anti-Hero,’ surpassing legends like Sir Paul McCartney and Lionel Richie.
Swift, with her album ‘Midnights’ released in October 2022, also tied with Barbra Streisand for the most all-time nominations by a female artist. Notably, this year’s Grammys underwent rule amendments, resulting in a reduction in the overall number of nominees.
