Lejoy Mathatho leaves SABC 2’s Leihlo La Sechaba show

South African TV and radio sensation Lejoy Mathatho has bid farewell to SABC 2’s hit show, Leihlo La Sechaba, where she served as a host since 2021. Making the official announcement this week, she revealed her decision to step down in February of this year.

“After three amazing years as the face of Leihlo la Sechaba on SABC 2, I officially bid adieu on February 12th/24,” she shared. “To our loyal viewers, your unwavering support, feedback, and interactions have made this journey truly unforgettable.”

Lejoy leaves the show with a heart brimming with gratitude and a strong sense of pride in her contributions. “I wish the show continued success and growth in the years ahead. May it keep enlightening, inspiring, and sparking conversations for generations to come. Thank you once again for letting me be a part of your lives. Here’s to the next great adventures…”

But it’s not all farewells for Lejoy. Thobela FM recently revealed its 2024/2025 presenter lineup, with Lejoy stepping into a new role as part of the radio station’s team. She’ll be co-hosting the morning drive show, Ditlalemiso, airing Monday to Friday from 6 to 9 am alongside Leonard “Lenny T” Legodi.

“Lethabo brings a wealth of experience and talent to the table, with a rich background in both radio and television,” stated the announcement from Thobela FM. Limpopo business manager, Madikana Matjila, showed excitement for the new opportunities and potential to attract more listeners with the dynamic new lineup.

Lejoy’s journey in radio dates back to 2006, boasting stints at other popular stations like Jacaranda FM and Capricorn FM.
