Moja Love is rallying behind its Sizok’thola host, Xolani Maphanga, following his arrest over alleged assault during a show shoot.
Maphanga and the program’s bodyguard were released on R5,000 bail each after their court appearance at Soshanguve Magistrate’s Court.
Well, this is not awkward at all…isn’t this the same channel that completely distanced themselves from former Sizok’thola presenter Xolani Khumalo when the very same thing happened?
In a statement to The Citizen, Moja Love emphasized Maphanga’s claim of innocence, asserting it was a case of mistaken identity. The channel underscored its commitment to justice, stating that if Maphanga is found guilty, appropriate actions will be taken.
Moja LOVE emphasized that while it respects Maphanga’s account, it will let the legal process unfold. The channel reiterated its stance against misconduct, affirming its readiness to address any unlawful incidents on set.
According to National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana, Maphanga and the bodyguard surrendered to police following the issuance of an arrest warrant after investigations.
