In a heartfelt message on Instagram today, DJ Fresh, known offstage as Thato Sikwane, shared the devastating news of his ex-wife, Thabiso Sikwane’s unexpected passing. Speaking with a calm yet sombre tone, DJ Fresh addressed his followers in a video that captured the raw emotions of the moment.
“Dumelang (hello). I’m not going to do a sombre video because that’s not what Thabiso would have wanted from me or anyone else, really,” he started, trying to stay true to the vibrant spirit his mother of five children was known for.
He continued, revealing the little information they have about her sudden departure. “We lost Thabiso this morning, around 6:30, and it’s been a shock to everyone. We’ve been told it might have been a cardiac event, but the exact cause is still unclear. We’re waiting for the post-mortem results to provide some clarity. It just doesn’t make sense to anyone how something like this could happen so suddenly.”
Despite the tragic news, DJ Fresh assured his followers that they would be informed about the upcoming memorial and funeral arrangements in due course. This took place shortly after Thabiso appeared on DJ Fresh’s podcast.
