It’s been a while since the passing of Kiernan “AKA” Forbes, but even though he has left the physical world, he still proves to be legendary. Today his best friend, and SA hip hop icon, K.O’s has just dropped a new single “King Size”, featuring AKA.
‘King Size’ brings together two of the biggest names in South African hip hop, each known for pushing boundaries and reshaping the genre. Their individual talents blend seamlessly, creating a track that feels both fresh and nostalgic, honouring the legacy they built together.
K.O is currently gearing up to drop his next album, ‘I Think You Spoke Too Soon’, and he’s taken to social media to also share how much the timing of this drop means to him, as they shot the music video to their hit anthem ‘Run Jozi (Godly)’ 10 years ago.
But K.O is not the only artist that has been keeping the Megacy alive. Nadia Nakai, AKA’s partner, recently released two new singles as part of her own tribute project, titled Braggacy. Although AKA doesn’t appear on the tracks, the songs are inspired by him and serve as an emotional tribute. The singles, “Missing You” (featuring Shekhinah and produced by Grammy-winner Zakes Bantwini) and “M.E.G.A” (Make Everything Godly Again), produced by Osaze Za and featuring Cindii Masina, continue to honour the late rapper’s spirit.
“King Size” is now available on all major streaming platforms.
