On November 19, the gymnastics superstar, fresh off her GOAT Tour, debuted a jaw-dropping new look on Instagram Stories: a wavy, chin-length bob with a deep side part. And trust us, it’s a gold-medal-worthy transformation.
The 27-year-old powerhouse wasn’t just serving face, she was serving a whole vibe. Pairing her sleek bob with a sultry, off-duty ensemble, Biles stunned in a black long-sleeve jersey shirt, worn daringly as a mini dress, and thigh-high silver boots. To top it all off, her layered necklaces added an extra dose of sparkle, proving that Simone’s fashion game is as sharp as her gymnastic moves.
This chic haircut is a far cry from the long, middle-parted locks she rocked earlier this year during the summer and fall. In fact, Biles’ hair journey has been a topic of conversation, especially after her appearance at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she proudly sported her natural hair.
During the scorching summer heat in France, the Olympic gold medallist showed off her natural ponytail, which, of course, sparked plenty of commentary online. Ever the queen of comebacks, Biles quickly shut down the critics. “Don’t come for me about my hair,” she captioned a video, explaining the struggle of keeping cool in a bus without air conditioning. “IT WAS DONE, but the bus has NO AC & it’s like 9,000 degrees.”
She didn’t stop there. In a follow-up post, Simone delivered a teachable moment for her followers. “Gonna hold your hand when I say this,” she wrote, “next time you want to comment on a Black girl’s hair, JUST DON’T.” Mic drop.
This isn’t the first time Biles has faced unsolicited opinions about her hair. When trolls criticized her bridal look after her April 2023 wedding to Jonathan Owens, she didn’t let it dim her glow.
In a candid July interview with Elle, Biles opened up about her journey to embracing her natural hair. “I used to worry about [my hair being considered] not professional,” she admitted. “But I’m not embarrassed about it anymore.”
