Adidas is dribbling back into the spotlight with a major revival: the return of Kobe Bryant’s last-ever signature shoe with the brand. Known for turning heads and sparking conversations, this re-release has sneakerheads buzzing as images of the revamped design circulate online.
Thanks to a sneak peek from House of Heat, we now have a first look at the upcoming Kobe 2, now rechristened as the Crazy 2. Draped in a Los Angeles Lakers-themed “All-Star” colourway, the sneaker pays homage to its basketball roots. Originally launched in 2001, the silhouette drew design inspiration from the sleek and futuristic Audi TT Roadster, embodying the era’s love for bold aesthetics.
However, the Crazy 2 carries a legacy that’s equal parts iconic and controversial. It marks the end of Kobe’s Adidas era, as the late Lakers legend reportedly wasn’t a fan of the design. His dissatisfaction eventually led him to part ways with the Three Stripes, paving the way for his legendary partnership with Nike, a collaboration that produced one of the most celebrated signature sneaker lines in history.
While the newly surfaced images offer a glimpse of this sneaker, Adidas remains tight-lipped about the release date for the “All-Star” Crazy 2. For now, fans and collectors will have to stay tuned for official updates.
