BBC Studios Releases its February highlights

The year has just started but BBC started is already bringing fiery entertainment to our screens and the broadcasting company has just released its February highlights for 2025.

New Zealand’s Best Homes with Phil Spencer

From Friday, 7 February, at 20:00: Phil Spencer explores some of New Zealand’s most stunning and desirable homes – from luxury mountain retreats to urban architectural wonders, including a holiday home perched high on a cli>’s edge and a striking set of barns.

Find Me a Match

From Friday, 14 February, to Sunday, 16 February, at 21:00: A behind-the-scenes look at how Australia’s traditional Hindu, Muslim and Jewish matchmakers unite singles for the purpose of marriage. Covering every dramatic and heartfelt moment – first dates, awkward meets and sensitive negotiations – the series reveals how matchmakers work tirelessly between all parties to ensure their respective cultures continue to the next generation. With such high stakes and high divorce rates throughout Australia, can more be learned from an approach that focuses on matching a person’s values rather than leaving love to chance alone?

Come Dine with Me UK Season 21

Starting Monday, 17 February. Airs Monday – Friday at 19:00 and 19:30: The iconic reality competition is back for another spectacular season. Watch as contestants across the UK battle it out to host the best dinner party of the week. This time, contestants from Northern Ireland, East Lancashire, and the Isle of Wight attempt to impress their fellow guests. But who will get their hands on the cash prize?

Big Zuu’s 12 Dishes in 12 Hours

From Tuesday, 18 February, at 20:00: Rapper Big Zuu takes famous faces on culinary tours of European cities, teaching them everything they need to know about the place through a dozen dishes, visiting places such as Bologna, Nicosia, and Amsterdam across six episodes. Former South African Strictly Come Dancing star, Oti Mabuse, features in episode 5.

Bridge of Lies Season 3 (25 episodes)

From Monday, 10 February, at 19:00: This high drama, high-stakes gameshow is back – where new teams of friends and family compete for a cash prize; all that stands in their way is the Bridge of Lies. Each Bridge crossing has 32 potential steps, including 22 truths and 10 lies. The contestants must cross the Bridge by stepping on the truths and avoiding the lies, earning money for each question answered correctly. Step on a lie, and the Bridge will half their money; step on three lies, and they are out of the game!

Father Brown Season 12 (10 episodes)

From Monday, 17 February, at 20:00: The quaint Cotswolds are abuzz with dastardly intrigue as the much-loved, long-running drama starring Mark Williams returns for a 12th series. Father Brown’s new ally is a playwright priest who’s written the perfect murder. But is art imitating death? There’s medieval murder at a battle re- enactment, a new nemesis lurking in the shadows and an old one who’s not quite as we remember him. And there are wedding bells for Chief Inspector Sullivan – until the secret is revealed that he’s not the real sleuth of the parish…

In Barbados, we meet cultural ambassador and ‘Queen of Soca’ Alison Hinds and catch up with cricketer Jofra Archer, who’s on an extended break after undergoing surgery. In Antigua and Barbuda, Alex Grimley – owner of the trendy Sheer Rocks restaurant – embarks on a new venture. Neysha Soodeen takes her family and friends on a luxury trip around the Grenadines.

Atlantis Season 2

From Saturday, 15 February, at 18:00: In the city of Atlantis, a year has passed, and much has changed. With her father dead, Ariadne is queen and finds herself at war with her old adversary, Pasiphae. As the kingdom stands on the brink of collapse, the struggle for power is bloody and brutal.

With the future looking bleak, there is only one person Ariadne dares turn to for help: Jason. The time has come for the young warrior to fulfil his destiny. The battle for Atlantis has begun. As Pasiphae lays siege to Atlantis without the Palladium to protect it, the city looks set to fall. The last remaining hope rests with Jason, Hercules and Pythagoras. Junior Bake-OFF Season 2

From Monday, 17 February, at 17:30: Enthusiastic young cooks take part in a culinary competition to determine which of them is Britain’s best junior baker. In the first heat, four contestants follow a tricky recipe for biscotti and lemonade. Then they’re challenged to create show-stopping racing-themed cakes, before judges Mary Berry and James Martin pick one to go through to the semi-final. Later, with a place in the semi-finals at stake, the bakers are tested on their know-how in the Technical Challenge, where they will try to master Mary Berry’s recipe for marble cake. They must then make a splash in the Showstopper Challenges as they rustle up and present a selection of impressive under-the-sea themed biscuits.

Listing Cape Town Season 2

From Monday, 17 February, at 18:00: Spanning from the beautiful and majestic Cape winelands, all the way to the Atlantic Seaboard, and now also with a strong footprint from within the Bishopscourt area, viewers will get a glimpse into the homes of the super-wealthy as the series sees the Mother City’s luxury real estate agents list and sell properties well over the R100 million mark.

This season also sees three new faces join the formidable cast of Listing Cape Town, as well as a few local celebrities in the entertainment and business industry. Watch as buyers from all over the globe try their best to get their hands on luxury properties in the current short-term holiday rental boom experienced in the Cape Town property market.

So, if you want to see what it takes to sell Franschhoek wine farm worth R150 million, a R99 million holiday villa in Camps Bay, or a Bishopscourt mansion with its own underground spa and squash court in the R100 million range, keep your eyes peeled for the second season of Listing Cape Town.

The six tourists come face-to-face with the horrors of the obesity crisis in di>erent parts of the world and confront the alarming truth of what may await them if they don’t tackle their own challenges. At the end of each week, participants are weighed together on a giant scale to see if their hard work in trying to lose weight – and the shocking things they have seen – has paid o>.

Big Adventures: Into South America with Nick Knowles

From Friday, 7 February, at 19:00: Broadcaster Nick Knowles heads o> on another exciting adventure, with this one taking him from the mighty Andes all the way to Argentina. Nick begins his journey by clinging to a rock in the Andes mountains – where he gets the chance to meet indigenous people, penguins, and inspirational cyclist Dimitri Po>e.

The second part of Nick’s exhilarating South American adventure is set in the beautiful Chilean Lake District. Chile is a land of volcanoes and, in the shadow of the mighty Mount Osorno, Nick takes to the icy blue waters to try out the relatively new sport of hydrospeeding, essentially bodyboarding on a fast- flowing river.

Finally, Nick reaches Argentina, the land of gauchos, Evita, passion and surprisingly, Welsh people. Nick first attempts to master Argentina’s most beloved sport, polo. Here the highly skilled horseback game is not just the preserve of royalty but is also the obsession of the entire nation. It’s a white- knuckle ride, but Nick gives it his best shot.

Ben Fogle: Return to the Wild Season 4

From Wednesday, 12 February, at 19:00: Adventurer Ben Fogle revisits people around the world who turned their backs on the rat race to set up homes in some of Earth’s most remote locations. In the wilds of Queensland, he revisits the ever- resilient Bette, who, in her 80s, lives alone in a ramshackle house.

Ben also sees his old friends Georg and Bettina, who live on a remote bogland in County Mayo. They found solace in the wilds of Ireland, but three years later, they are still weighing up options. Elsewhere, Ben revisits Will Lord, a true British caveman, in Su>olk’s woodlands. Discover how Will’s prehistoric dreams have evolved over three years and how his loved ones embrace this lifestyle.

Alan Cumming’s Most Luxurious Train Journeys: Scotland

From Friday, 21 February. at 20:00: This series features exclusive, behind-the-scenes access to the Royal Scotsman – an iconic, opulent train – as it embarks on one of the world’s great rail journeys, racing through spectacular settings and showcasing the finest heritage, nature, and romance Scotland has to o>er. Tony, Olivier and Emmy- winning actor Alan Cumming (The Good Wife) will experience what it is like to be a passenger on this epic adventure, cruising through the Highlands and indulging like royalty. This is a decadent railway trip of a lifetime, and the international travellers on board certainly have plenty of character.

Asia (8 episodes including the Making Of)

From Monday, 24 February, at 20:00: Brand-new BBC Studios Natural History Landmark. This series explores the Earth’s biggest continent, Asia. From the vast Arabian Desert and unexplored jungles of Indonesia to the biting polar wilderness of Siberia and the tropical coral seas of the Indian Ocean. Dramatic wildlife stories are captured in extraordinary locations, including the Tibetan plateau, the Gobi Desert and the Himalayas.

In the Making Of episode, we gain a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to produce such a captivating programme. With it taking more than 2,500 days overall to film, a crew from 30 di>erent countries who work on the series share their local knowledge to capture unique and jaw-dropping footage.

Big Adventures: Into the Amazon with Robson Green

Presenter Robson Green takes viewers on a breathtaking journey through the Amazon rainforest in what promises to be a fascinating exploration of one of the world’s most captivating and diverse ecosystems. Robson’s journey begins in Alter do Chao, known as the gateway to the rainforest, and the Amazon’s answer to the Caribbean. His first challenge is to climb 180 feet up to the top of a canopy via a terrifying route consisting of tightropes and rope ladders.

At the top, he finds that the view is exhilarating and gives an indication of the incredible scale and richness of this diverse ecosystem. Robson also explores the stunningly beautiful Anavilhanas Archipelago in his canoe. An intricate pattern of tiny islands and lagoons, it’s a truly magical place teeming with fish and bird life.

On Friday ,14 February, at 11:15: In this Valentine’s themes episode, JoJo wonders why the moon is a funny shape. Gran Gran explains why the moon appears to change shape in the night sky, and together, they make a moon diary for JoJo to take home.
