Thabiso Rammusi on Mpho’s redemption in Adulting season 3

With Showmax’s highly anticipated Season 3 of Adulting airing in just a few days, Thabiso Rammusi opens up about his character’s tumultuous journey in the final season.

The new season begins with a reckoning for Thabiso who plays Mpho.

After receiving divorce papers from his wife Zithulele, Mpho attempts to manipulate the situation to his advantage—but his plan spectacularly backfires.

Throughout their marriage, Mpho viewed Zithulele as an obedient, forgiving wife who always went with the flow. However, his infidelity and the shocking revelation that he fathered a child with another woman proved to be Zithulele’s breaking point.

Audiences will witness Zithulele taking a stand and reclaiming her power, forcing Mpho to confront the consequences of his actions.

“Watching her transformation is incredible,” Thabiso shares.

“It’s a wake-up call for Mpho, but it’s also empowering for viewers to see Zithulele’s growth.”

As Season 3 unfolds, fans will explore Mpho’s struggle to adapt to this more assertive version of his ex-wife. The previous season ended with Mpho as a lonely single father, grappling with strained relationships with both his ex-wife and his mistress.

In the upcoming episodes, viewers will see him on a journey of redemption, determined to be a better father and co-parent.

His transformation becomes a pivotal element of the storyline, leaving fans eager to see how far he’s willing to go to mend his fractured relationships.

Reflecting on the show’s journey, Thabiso admits that the cast never anticipated the series’ runaway success.

“We didn’t expect it to go beyond one season,” he confesses.

“The nature of this industry is so unpredictable—nothing feels certain until it’s set in stone. But we were hopeful. After the love and feedback we got for Season 1, we realised there might be more to tell. By the time we wrapped Season 2, we thought, ‘This is it.’ And now, here we are in 2025, gearing up for Season 3.”

Season 3 promises to bring emotional closure while challenging its characters—and viewers—to grow, evolve, and reflect.

Catch Adulting Season 3 on January 25 and witness the culmination of Mpho’s compelling journey.
