Netflix’s Young, Famous & African is back, and it’s ready to reclaim its crown as reality TV royalty. With its first two seasons scooping up awards and dominating Netflix’s most-watched charts within hours of their release, the series has definitely cemented its place as the ultimate guilty pleasure.
Now, the countdown is officially on! Mark your calendars for Friday, January 17, because the third season promises to take the chaos, connections, and confrontations to new heights.
Netflix just dropped the official trailer, and it’s as explosive as fans had hoped. The SAFTAs-winning series is pulling no punches this season, and if the sneak peek is anything to go by, we’re in for a whirlwind of broken relationships, fiery reunions, and scandalous new dynamics.
According to Netflix, the eight-episode series “pulls back the curtains on fractured marriages, fragile friendships, and fresh connections.” Translation? Bigger parties, louder drama, and jaw-dropping moments that will leave you reeling.
“Old friends reconnect, and new faces join the Young, Famous & African family, bringing more epic ups and downs than ever before. From make-ups to dramatic breakups, all set in the lap of luxury, the season delivers baddies, babies, and everything in between.”
Season 3 introduces some exciting new faces:
South African content creator Kefilwe Mabote, known for her flawless style.
Nollywood superstar Ini Edo, bringing that iconic Nigerian flair.
Entrepreneur Shakib Lutaaya, adding fresh energy to the mix.
Joining the newcomers is the returning cast:
Tanzanian music sensation Diamond Platnumz.
Nigerian stylist Swanky Jerry and actress Annie Macaulay-Idibia.
Ugandan socialite Zari “The Boss Lady” Hassan and her husband, Shakib Lutaaya.
Ghanaian-American singer Fantana.
Namibian model and businessman Luis Munana.
South African A-listers are bringing their star power too, with rapper Nadia Nakai, DJ and radio host Naked DJ, and his partner, model Kayleigh Schwark. And of course, the inimitable actress and media personality Khanyi Mbau returns to steal the spotlight.
While the lineup is stacked, fans have noticed one that face is missing, and that’s sports presenter Andile Ncube. His absence from the trailer has sparked speculation and demands for answers. Will the fan favourite make a surprise return, or is this goodbye? Only time will tell.
