Xolane Ndhlovu, The Billionaire Behind Bars Who Brought a Family Hope

South African businessman and billionaire Xolane Ndhlovu has once again stepped up to help those in need, this time bringing relief to the grieving family of the late makeup artist, Primrose Vale. Vale tragically passed away in Nigeria in December while visiting friends, leaving her family in distress as they struggled to bring her body home. Ndhlovu generously contributed R100,000 to ensure her remains were repatriated, offering a lifeline to the heartbroken family.

Ndhlovu, the owner of UMEH Media, has built a reputation for his philanthropy. From constructing homes for struggling South Africans to offering financial aid during the Covid-19 pandemic, his generosity knows no bounds. Despite currently serving a sentence at Leeuwkop Correctional Centre for an attempted murder-related offense, he continues to be a force for good, proving that redemption and impact can exist beyond prison walls.

Vale, a talented Cape Town-based makeup artist, was just 29 years old when she passed away on Christmas Eve in Lagos. Her father, Orlando, a pensioner, only learned of her death a week later. According to reports, she succumbed to malaria, leaving her family devastated and faced with an overwhelming financial burden of over R97,000 to bring her body home.

Social media was abuzz with discussions about her passing, especially after videos surfaced showing Vale enjoying time on a luxury boat with a Nigerian host. Some South Africans raised concerns about the risks young women face abroad, while others criticized her decision to leave behind her 10-year-old child.

With the family’s fundraising efforts falling short, Ndhlovu stepped in at the eleventh hour, covering the costs and allowing Vale’s family to give her a dignified burial. Overcome with gratitude, her father shared his emotions:

“We were stressed as a family, but now we can finally lay my daughter to rest. I don’t know how to thank Mr. Ndhlovu enough. I am crying as we speak. May God bless him.”

Vale’s sister, Alda, also expressed her appreciation: “It was a very difficult time for us, especially financially. We are beyond grateful.”
