Mamelodi Sundowns have announced the signing of Bafana Bafana striker Lebo Mothiba.
The 29-year-old, who made his mark in France, is set to strengthen the already formidable Sundowns attack.
On social media, the club welcomed Mothiba with the message, “Welcome to the home of the Champions, Lebo.” They added, “He’s represented South Africa abroad, and now Lebo Mothiba joins us to boost Bafana Ba Style!”
In a video shared by Mamelodi Sundowns, Mothiba expressed his excitement: “This is my club, my home, and this is where it all started for me. I’m so grateful to be here, and I can’t wait to get started. Masandawana supporters, I can’t wait to play in front of you.”
“My name is Lebo Mothiba, and I’m proud to be yellow.”
Mothiba first rejoined the club in January for a training period, where he impressed the technical team. After several months of showcasing his abilities, he has now signed a contract with Sundowns for the rest of the current season.
With 20 goals and six assists from 96 appearances, Mothiba’s past performances are promising, though recurring knee injuries led both him and his previous club to agree on a new direction.
