Smurfs Take a Detour Through Mzansi Before Landing on the Big Screen

The Smurfs have officially landed in South Africa—and they’re ready to smurf the nation! In the lead-up to the highly anticipated release of the new SMURFS movie, arriving in cinemas nationwide on July 11, fans across the country will have a once-in-a-blue-moon chance to meet two of the film’s beloved characters: the iconic Smurfette and a brand-new face, the mysteriously named “No Name.”

These larger-than-life characters will be embarking on one of the most extensive costume character tours South Africa has ever seen, making stops across shopping centres, casinos, and entertainment hubs in four provinces.

Music, Meet & Greets, and a Whole Lot of Blue Fun

At each tour stop, fans can expect energetic dance sessions set to tracks from the official SMURFS soundtrack, featuring global stars like Rihanna, DJ Khaled, Cardi B, James Corden, Shenseea, and South Africa’s Grammy-winning sensation, Tyla. Smurfette and No Name will also hand out limited edition Smurfs sticker sets, while supplies last—adding a special collectible touch for the little (and not-so-little) fans.

The all-star voice cast also features James Corden, Sandra Oh, Jimmy Kimmel, Amy Sedaris, and Daniel Levy, promising laughs, adventure, and heartfelt moments for audiences of all ages.

Smurfs with a Purpose

More than just a colourful adventure, the Smurfs continue to champion themes of community, creativity, and environmental care. Through this national tour, the characters aim to share these values in person with South African families and fans.

Adding a local touch, Smurf-themed meals will also be available at SPUR restaurants nationwide throughout the tour.

Don’t miss the chance to smurf your selfie, grab your stickers, and dance along with Smurfette and No Name! The countdown to SMURFS in cinemas begins—blue vibes only!
