Betway and Scorpion Kings Launch Internship for Amapiano Festival

In a powerful fusion of culture, music, and youth empowerment, Betway and the Betway Cares Foundation have partnered with Scorpion Kings Live with Friends to introduce an inspiring new initiative — the 100 Lives Internship Programme — in the lead-up to one of South Africa’s most anticipated music festivals.

Spearheaded by DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small, the initiative will give 100 young South Africans (aged 18 to 28) the opportunity to gain real-world experience in the entertainment industry. From production and logistics to communications and artist relations, interns will be deeply involved in bringing the show to life — offering a rare behind-the-scenes view of a world-class live music event.

Aspiring candidates can apply by sending their CV and a short motivational cover letter to scorpionkingslive@gmail.com

“The 100 Lives Initiative is about opening doors to real skills, real experience, and access to real opportunities,” said Bakang Lethoko, Head of Betway Cares Foundation.
“We’re proud to support changemakers who are actively addressing the challenges facing young people in South Africa.”

As part of its broader commitment to long-term impact, Betway Cares will also offer bursaries to selected participants, extending the initiative beyond the stage.

“This isn’t just a show — it’s a movement,” said Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa.
“We’re not only creating an unforgettable night of music, but we’re also investing in the future of South African entertainment. Young people need to know they belong in these spaces.”

The festival — Betway presents Scorpion Kings Live with Friends — is set to take place on August 29 at Loftus Stadium in Pretoria.

Promising a global-standard production, fans can look forward to performances by the Scorpion Kings and an all-star lineup including Daliwonga, Young Stunna, Msaki, Kwesta, Ami Faku, Focalistic, Mlindo the Vocalist, Phila Dlozi, and more to be announced.
