Rapper Emtee has issued a public apology to Big Brother Mzansi star Mshini Ledwaku, following a social media controversy.
Emtee shared a statement on Instagram, explaining that he does not know Mshini personally, except from watching her on Big Brother Mzansi and witnessing her support for his craft. He emphasised that he did not post any private conversations.
The apology comes after Emtee’s wife, Nicole Kendall Chinsamy, reportedly shared direct message screenshots involving Mshini on her Instagram stories a few days ago.
“This is something rare for me to see because I never know where I stand with people or how people feel about me,” Emtee said. “I know I’m not perfect. Very far from it, but I have heart and empathy. My intention was to meet her personally and thank her. She has been nothing but kind to me and I appreciated it.”
He added, “I’m married, so I had no other intention but to say thank you and figure out a way we could work together since she is a public figure, a hard worker, and a good person in general from what I see.”
Emtee also extended his apology to Mshini’s team and loved ones, stating he would never intentionally expose their conversations or put her safety at risk, underscoring that he prioritises safety.
