TikTok has officially launched TikTok for Artists in South Africa, following its global debut earlier this year. This all-in-one insights platform is designed to give artists, labels, and their teams access to data and tools that help track music performance, audience engagement, and overall fan interaction on the platform.
The platform offers daily-updated dashboards and comprehensive analytics, providing detailed insights into how songs and content are performing and how fans are engaging.
Key features include:
- Song performance metrics such as views, posts, and creator interactions
- Post analytics, including likes, comments, shares, and completion rates
- Audience breakdown by gender, age, and language
- Step-by-step guides for TikTok tools
- Career support resources for long-term growth
A standout feature is the new Pre-Release tool, allowing artists to promote upcoming music and enabling fans to pre-save tracks to streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music.
Toyin Mustapha, Head of Music Partnerships for the UK, Ireland, and Sub-Saharan Africa, stated: “With TikTok for Artists, we’re putting powerful, transparent data in the hands of creators so they can connect with fans in more meaningful ways and grow their careers globally.”
The platform’s impact is already evident. Locally, ‘Isaka (6am)’ by Ciza, Jazzworx, and Thukuthela has been featured in over 1.2 million South African videos and more than 2 million globally. Similarly, ‘Ngishutheni’ by Goon Flavour, Master KG, and Eemoh has racked up nearly 1 million local and 6 million global creations.
Songs like ‘Bengicela’ by Mawhoo, GL_Ceejay, and Thukuthela have also gained traction with over 630 000 local and 700 000 global video creations, showcasing TikTok’s role in turning everyday users into promoters and music into viral moments.
Now available to all certified artist accounts, TikTok for Artists allows access for managers and label teams, reinforcing TikTok’s commitment to supporting Africa’s vibrant music ecosystem.
