It all started in Cape Town in the middle of iShowSpeed’s New Year’s stream. Popular streamer and comedic internet icon iShowSpeed made his stop in South Africa on New Year’s Eve as part of his Africa Tour, and stepped into the new year in the Mother City: Cape Town.
One of the stops that Speed made was Destiny, a nightclub in Cape Town. He was disappointed to find that it was barely occupied but encountered a South African creator by the name of EBTHEKID, who offered to challenge Speed to a game of FIFA. Unfortunately, as much as Speed was flattered, he declined the offer and his response to the request was: “You tryna play FIFA and it’s girls in the club. You trippin’, bro.”
After Destiny, his next stop was the Out of Affliction Cafe, and there he was met with warm welcomes and greetings from popular South African content creators. Among these creators was none other than King Oumar, a South African YouTube creator. Speed enjoyed the hospitality provided by his fellow creators, and in that space, King Oumar saw an opportunity to collaborate. After several failed attempts to gain Speed’s attention, he waited it out until Speed was about to leave. As Speed was leaving, this was Oumar’s moment to shine.
Following slightly far behind the world-famous creator, Oumar shouted amongst the crowd, “Yo Speed, we should do a 20V1!”. A request which Speed paid no mind and continued his exit.
This may seem like the end, but Oumar was determined and sought after the opportunity to gain a collab. After Cape Town, Speed’s next stop was Johannesburg. In additional clips of the Joburg leg of the tour, Speed is seen in a car with several other people. One of the people in the car being, of course, King Oumar himself. In a more secluded setting, Oumar had the opportunity to communicate with Speed directly and he succeeded. He further proposed his idea to Speed, to which Speed responded with skepticism and uncertainty because it was so last minute, ultimately leaving the request up in the air.
With Oumar absent from the car in another clip, Speed ridiculed the idea proposed to him, stating: “20V1 in the big ’26, too. I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. A 20V1 in 2026?”
You can check out the clip here.
For those unfamiliar with a what a 20V1 is, think “Pop the Balloon” and “Smash or Pass” where there are 20 potential suitors lined up, and one bachelor or bachelorette has to interact with them to determine who they like the most.
Ultimately, the rejection from Speed resulted in public ridicule and hate towards King Oumar.
Last night, King Oumar uploaded a video to YouTube where he addressed the hate comments and ridicule from haters. In the video, he hinted that there is something in the works and being edited with Speed and told haters and viewers to humbly wait. We shall do so, but in the meantime… 20v1 in the big ’26?
