Woolworths Brings Affordable Fancy Tuckshop to Curro School

Hold up! Woolworths opened a full cashless cafe at Curro Century City in Cape Town, bringing mini grocery store vibes right to break time. Kids now grab Woolies wraps, smoothies, fresh fruit, yoghurts and healthy snacks instead of spaza treats. And it’s said to have affordable prices that fit school budgets!

This partnership kicked off at the start of the 2026 term, Woolworths’ second school location after Springfield Convent. Curro kids tap bank cards, use the Karri app or even Apple/Google/Apple Watches for quick payments. Menus are dietitian-approved with good portion sizes, helping fight junk food overload. Parents love tracking spending and pre-loading funds from home – no more lost lunch money!

Some say it’s peak private school flex, but Woolies promises everyday pricing keeps it accessible for families. Woolworths CEO Zyke September called tuckshops “an opportunity to make a real difference in children’s lives” through better nutrition. Curro also plans to open more locations soon.

What a smart move for South African schools! Genius partnership or lunch time luxury?
