Aisha Jumwa Katana (born 23rd March 1975 in Takaungu) is a Kenyan politician.
She is a member of the National Assembly for Malindi Constituency, a position she climbed since August 2017.
She belongs to the political party, the Orange Democratic Movement. Jumwa also served as Women Rep. for Kilifi County.

Education
She started her career in education at Takaungu Primary School. Jumwa later furthered her academic pursuit at Murray Girls Secondary School.
She dropped out in from two due to lack of school fees, she stayed out of school for two (2) years and then decided to start a small business.
She went into politics and with luck on her side, Jumwa was elected to serve as Councillor.
She then returned to school and finished her secondary education during her days as a Councilor.
In 2013, Jumwa joined Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.
There she graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree during her days as a Women Representative.
Divorce
Aisha Juma is divorced which she had after a few years after joining politics.
According to sources, a bitter exchange happened between her and the husband. He did not want the Aisha to join politics.
“Her husband did not support her political ambitions because he believed women who joined politics never respected their men”.
He then requested a payback of his dowry with a bull as a way of dissolving their marriage.
“My husband said if I wanted to continue with my life I should pay him a dowry.
“I took him to the sub-chief to be a witness to his demands and I paid the bull as was demanded of me,’’ she says.
Following the divorce, she contested for Malindi parliamentary seat and won against William Baraka Mtengo.
Later, Juma also contested for Kilifi woman representative and emerged the winner.
Family
She was born into a family of five (5) and is the second born child. She is a single mother to three (3) children; Karisa, Selina, and Ruth. Jumwa is also a grandmother to ‘the young Morgan’.
Teenage Pregnancy
She called on the police to arrest pregnant school girls and also detain them to avoid gender discrimination.
She further noted that both teenage genders (boys and girls) deserve equal punishment for engaging in underage sex which is illegal in Kenya.
‘‘Whoever is taken to court in cases of teenage pregnancy is a boy, the law cuts both sides; all girls and boys should be arrested if we want to solve the problem,’’ she said.
Career
Jumwa was elected as a Councilor, she later climbed to the position of the Kilifi Town Council.
In 2007, she vies for a Parliamentary position for the larger Bahari Constituency. But could not make it.
In 2013, Jumwa contested for the Kilifi woman representative seat and won the position.
The Guma water project is credited to her, the project would enable residents of a village to have access to piped water.
She has two (2) water projects running funded by the Coast Water Project.
Jumwa also collaborated with Hon Rachel Ruto to oversee the launch of table banking under Joywo.
‘She has also initiated several education projects’. She also initiated donation projects of chairs and tents to women groups.
This would let them raise funds by hiring them out during functions.
Jumwa tries to be a source of encouragement to the people of Kilifi to practice agriculture as a way of sourcing for income.
She has also constructed seven (7) greenhouses (worth Sh600,000). The funds are provided by the Ministry of Agriculture.
