The Congress of Traditional Leaders of South Africa has given go-ahead.
The schools were barred from operating due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The traditional practice is usually held in winter and summer.
Contralesa in Gauteng says all schools should follow COVID-19 safety and health protocol and all young male initiates must consult their local healthcare centre beforehand.
All initiates should involve their elders before undergoing the cultural practice of initiation.
