South Africa has recorded 158 new COVID-19 related deaths. The majority of the deaths are from Gauteng (70), KwaZulu Natal (38), Eastern Cape (22), and the Free State (19).
South Africa’s death toll is now 18,309. There are 1,770 new coronavirus cases confirmed in the country in the last 24 hours.
This brings the total number of infections to 698,184.
The total number of recoveries is 628,301 which translates to a recovery rate of 90-percent.
